چکیده

Cycles for heating and cooling have been studied in detail when it comes to thermodynamics and design. However, there are few publications on optimal operation with given equipment which is the theme of this paper. One important issue is which variable to control during operation, for example super-heating, pressure, liquid level or valve set-point. Unlike open systems the initial charge to the cycle may have a steady state effect, and it is discussed how different designs are affected by this factor. Numerical results are provided for a ammonia and CO2 cycle.

Designing Fuzzy Controller for Air Conditioning Systems in order to Save Energy Consumption and Provide Optimal Conditions in Closed Environments (Indoors)

Today air conditioning systems have been considered by all people as one of welfarerequirements in buildings and closed environments. Since a considerable part of energy lossoccurs in ordinary modern systems, new strategies and solutions are developed in the field inorder to save amount of energy consumption and observe environmental considerations. Fuzzycontrol is one of these methods which pr...

Effect of temperature as well as heating and cooling cycles on rock properties

Temperature has a significant role in many actions performed on rocks. An example would be the effect of temperature on rocks in the burial of nuclear waste, geothermal energy extraction, deep oil well drilling, and fires in tunnels. In addition, due to diurnal/nocturnal as well as seasonal temperature variations, rocks undergo a process of heating and cooling. In the present work, the effect o...

Equipment capacity optimization of an educational building’s CCHP system by genetic algorithm and sensitivity analysis

Combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) systems produce electricity, cooling, and heat due to their high efficiency and low emission. These systems have been widely applied in various building types, such as offices, hotels, hospitals and malls. In this paper, an economic and technical analysis to determine the size and operation of the required gas engine for specific electricity, cooling, ...

Optimal operation of simple refrigeration cycles: Part I: Degrees of freedom and optimality of sub-cooling

The paper focuses on the operation of simple refrigeration cycles. With equipment given, there are, from a control and operational point of iew, five steady-state degrees of freedom; the compressor power, the heat transfer in the condenser, the heat transfer in the evaporator, the choke alve opening and the active charge in the cycle. Different designs for affecting the active charge, including...
